Sunil is a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group.
His experience in contentious matters includes shareholder and partnership disputes, renovation disputes, tenancy disputes, tortious claims in negligence and defamation, employment disputes, and a variety of other contractual and debt claims. Some of these matters involved interim injunctions and freezing orders. He has been involved in applications, trials and appeals in the State Courts (formerly Subordinate Courts) and Supreme Court, as well as matters fixed for arbitration and adjudication.
Sunil also advises on non-contentious matters such as commercial contracts, franchise agreements, joint ventures and employment law issues.¬†
Some of the notable matters that Sunil has been involved in are: the recovery of monies by the Republic of the Philippines which had allegedly been misappropriated by the former President Marcos and his family; the claim by a Singapore integrated resort against a gambler for a casino debt, which was the first such trial before the Singapore courts; an ICC arbitration concerning a dispute over the sale and supply of a security-related system to a foreign customer, valued in the tens of millions.
Sunil was called to the Singapore Bar in 2007.
